The Trevor Project
Suicide is the 2nd leading cause of death among young people - and lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender youth are more than four times more likely to attempt suicide than their peers. The Trevor Project, the world’s largest suicide prevention and crisis intervention organization for LGBTQ young people, estimates that each year more than 1.5 million LGBTQ youth experience suicidal ideation and could benefit from its services. One supportive person can decrease an LGBTQ youth’s risk of suicide by 30%, and The Trevor Project aims to always be there for LGBTQ youth in crisis with a clear message: they are loved and never alone.
